Putrajaya, 15 January 2018 – IHRAM and QSR Brands Holdings (M) Sdn Bhd in collaboration with the Malaysian International Halal Academy (MIHA), Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) of had recently organised the Consultative Workshop on Halal Certification for Food Delivery Service.
The workshop aimed to expose participants on regulatory and technical issues concerning Halal certification in food service sector. the workshop has attracted 31 participants from chain restaurants under QSR Brands (Pizza Hut Restraurants, Ayamas Shoppe), McDonald’s Malaysia, Food Panda, Gerimis Baiduri, Uber, Grab. . Handling of food service delivery from restaurants right to customers’ doorsteps, Halal critical control points and potential cross-contamination, types of transportation used for delivery, integrity of runners were among the issues discussed and deliberated during the workshop.
Speakers include Dr. Norailis Abd Wahab, Faculty of Economy and Muamalat USIM (Perkhidmatan Penghantaran Makanan: Perkembangan Pasaran dan Peluang Pensijilan Halal); Tn. Hj. Mohd Roslan Mohd Saluddin General Manager, Shariah Compliance and Halal Department of QSR Brands(Halal Food Delivery Service : Expectations From Food Operations)and Mr. Mohd Amri Abdullah, Programme Head, Malaysia International Halal Academy (Prosedur Pensijilan Halal Malaysia dalam Perkhidmatan Penghantaran).
